Eric Dane, Sterling K Brown and More Join The Fight To End ALS | Why the New I AM ALS PSA is a Must-Watch

With so much noise, chaos, and division in our daily feeds, it is incredibly refreshing when people use their platforms to pour love back into the world. It’s a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we actually show up for each other. This month, an incredible group of creators and advocates are doing exactly that, uniting for a cause that desperately needs our attention.

During ALS Awareness Month, the nonprofit organization I AM ALS launched a powerful new national public service announcement (PSA) initiative. The campaign pays tribute to the incredible advocacy work of the late actor and I AM ALS ambassador Eric Dane.

If you haven’t seen the PSA yet, it’s a beautifully stitched-together call to action featuring an incredible roster of talent. But there is one specific appearance that stands out for all the right reasons: the incomparable Sterling K. Brown.

Sterling K. Brown: Always on the Right Side of History

As a viewer and a writer, I have to say—this is just super cool. Sterling K. Brown continues to prove that he is consistently on the right side of history. When it comes to Hollywood celebrities, his social awareness and intentionality are absolute top-tier.

"ALS won’t wait, and neither will we."

Brown doesn’t just show up for photo ops; he lends his unmistakable voice and genuine heart to movements that matter. In this PSA, his presence helps elevate a message of urgent humanity. He joins a massive wave of solidarity alongside other heavy hitters like Shonda Rhimes, Sharon Stone, John Stamos, and Nina Dobrev. Together, they are turning a spotlight onto a disease that has flown under the radar for far too long.

Celebrating the Legacy of Eric Dane

The emotional anchor of this entire campaign is the late Eric Dane. Before his passing, Dane partnered deeply with I AM ALS on their Push for Progress initiative, even traveling to Washington, D.C., to advocate for a historic $1 billion in federal ALS research funding.

Alongside the PSA, the nonprofit released a deeply moving 20-minute documentary short on YouTube titled “Ring Every Bell: Eric Dane’s Final Act with I AM ALS.” In the full video, Dane shares his raw, vulnerable reality, stating: “I’m trying not to die, and I want to be around for my kids. And I want others to be able to experience the same.” He urged viewers to create a groundswell of attention, pushing everyone to march in the same direction toward a cure. The video is a must-watch, capturing his final, inspiring urge to “keep going.”

Turning Hope Into Progress

The ultimate goal of this campaign isn’t to preach or make you feel guilty—it’s to invite you into a movement of hope.

Right now, critical, life-saving legislation called the ACT for ALS is facing expiration in just a few months. This law has funded massive breakthroughs and expanded treatment access for patients. If it expires, that historic momentum stalls.

The PSA ends with a beautifully aspirational message: “Join us as we turn hope into progress. Get in, we’re ending ALS.” ### How You Can Help

We can’t do this alone, and neither can the families fighting this disease every day. Let’s take a page out of Sterling K. Brown and Eric Dane’s book and show some love.

Head over to YouTube to watch the full 20-minute documentary, share the PSA on your social channels, and visit I AM ALS to find out how you can volunteer or advocate in your local community. Let’s ring every bell.
